Venus Transit in Uttara Ashadha

The Vishvadevas, the gods taken together, are the deities of Uttara Ashadha. Its lord is the Sun and its symbol an elephant's tusk. The first pada lies in Sagittarius and the other three in Capricorn. Parashara counts the Sun an enemy of Venus, and Saturn, lord of Capricorn, is a friend who holds the sign for most of the stay.

The later victory is the theme, the one that lasts. Venus gains through work done properly, through reputation and through the approval of many people, and marriage is made with the whole community present, and money comes from established firms, government contracts and land. The stay is around eleven days. A retrograde once stretched it to about three and a half weeks.

Uttara Ashadha is dhruva in muhurta, fixed, and Muhurta Chintamani lists it for a wedding, for laying a foundation and for any act meant to endure. In the Sagittarius pada Venus is expansive. In the Capricorn padas it is careful, and the pleasure lies in a thing well built.

For the Sagittarius pada, Cancer, Gemini and Pisces Moons hold Venus in the sixth, seventh and tenth. For the Capricorn padas the same houses fall to Leo, Cancer and Aries Moons, and Cancer Moons should take care for the whole stay. The other Moon signs and lagnas receive Venus in one of Phaladeepika's nine favourable houses. Capricorn Moons feel it in the first as a settled and dignified affection.

The person learns whether their pleasures could stand in public view. Uttara Ashadha asks that desire be fit to be seen by all the gods at once.
